Hangover Recovery IV

Bounce back, fast

IV fluids, electrolytes, B vitamins, and anti-nausea medication to address hangover symptoms in a single session.

About this drip

Bounce back, fast.

A hangover is principally dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, and the inflammatory aftermath of alcohol metabolism. The Hangover Recovery IV addresses each of those directly: medical-grade saline restores intravascular volume faster than oral fluids can, electrolytes correct the imbalance alcohol drives, B vitamins replace what was burned through metabolizing ethanol, and a prescription anti-nausea medication takes the edge off if you’re still queasy. Sessions run 30–45 minutes at our Royal Oak clinic and are administered by a licensed clinician. This drip is symptom relief, not a license — repeated heavy alcohol use carries health risks no infusion offsets.

What's Inside

Medical-grade ingredients, precisely dosed and delivered directly to your bloodstream.

01

IV Fluids (Saline)

Medical-grade isotonic saline for rapid intravascular rehydration.

Mechanism
IV saline restores plasma volume faster than oral intake because it bypasses the absorption rate-limit of the GI tract, which is itself impaired after heavy alcohol.

02

Electrolytes

Sodium, potassium, and magnesium to correct alcohol-driven imbalance.

Mechanism
Alcohol acts as a diuretic and drives loss of sodium, potassium, and magnesium; replacing them helps resolve the headache, fatigue, and muscle aches that dominate the hangover picture.

03

B Vitamins

Replenish vitamins depleted by alcohol metabolism.

Mechanism
Ethanol metabolism in the liver consumes thiamine (B1) and other B vitamins; supplementation supports recovery of the energy-production pathway.

04

Anti-nausea medication

Prescription anti-nausea (typically ondansetron) for active nausea.

Mechanism
Ondansetron is a 5-HT3 receptor antagonist that blocks the serotonin signal driving nausea, providing relief while the saline and electrolytes do the underlying work.

Questions, answered

About the Hangover Recovery IV.

No. NuHealth doesn’t prescribe this drip prophylactically. The Hangover Recovery IV addresses symptoms after the fact; the only reliable way to prevent a hangover is to drink less alcohol.

Yes — the medications used do not impair driving. We do recommend resting in the clinic for ~15 minutes after the drip and confirming with your clinician before leaving.

Yes. Tell your provider if you have known kidney or heart disease, are on diuretics, have a serotonin-related medication on board (the anti-nausea component may interact), or if you have a pattern of heavy or daily drinking — that’s a primary care conversation, not a drip.

Safety + supervision

The Hangover Recovery IV is symptomatic relief administered by a licensed clinician at our Royal Oak clinic. It is not a treatment for alcohol use disorder, does not protect the liver or other organs from the effects of alcohol, and should not be used as a way to drink more often. A pattern of frequent or heavy alcohol use is a primary care conversation.
