Hydration IV
Fluid and electrolytes, nothing else
A straightforward saline and electrolyte infusion for patients who are genuinely depleted — after illness, heat, travel, or a hard training block.
About this drip
Fluid and electrolytes, nothing else.
The Hydration IV is the simplest drip we offer and the one most patients start with. It is medical-grade saline with balanced electrolytes, delivered intravenously so the fluid reaches circulation directly rather than passing through the gut. Patients book it after a stomach bug, a long flight, a hot weekend outdoors, or a heavy training week — situations where drinking water has not been enough or has not stayed down. Sessions run about 30–45 minutes at our Royal Oak clinic with a licensed clinician present throughout. It replaces fluid; it does not treat whatever caused the deficit.
What's Inside
Medical-grade ingredients, precisely dosed and delivered directly to your bloodstream.
IV Fluids (Saline)
Medical-grade sterile saline, matched to the body’s own salt concentration.
Mechanism
Isotonic saline expands circulating plasma volume directly, which is why IV fluid restores intravascular volume faster than drinking when someone is significantly depleted or cannot keep liquids down.
Electrolytes
Sodium, potassium, chloride and magnesium in physiologic balance.
Mechanism
Electrolytes set the osmotic gradients that hold water inside cells and the bloodstream; replacing fluid without them can dilute circulating sodium rather than correct the deficit.

Questions, answered
About the Hydration IV.
For everyday thirst it is not better — drinking is the right answer. IV fluid matters when the gut is the bottleneck: vomiting, diarrhoea, or a deficit large enough that oral intake cannot catch up quickly. Your clinician will tell you plainly if water and an oral electrolyte mix would serve you just as well.
No. The Hydration IV is fluid and electrolytes only. B vitamins, Vitamin C, amino acids and NAD+ sit in the other drips on this page, and your provider can help you choose between them.
It is intended for occasional use around a specific event — an illness, a trip, a hard training week. If you find yourself needing fluids regularly, that pattern is worth investigating with a primary care provider rather than repeating drips.
Safety + supervision
The Hydration IV is administered by a licensed clinician at our Royal Oak clinic. IV fluid is not appropriate for everyone — tell your provider before the session if you have heart failure, kidney disease, uncontrolled high blood pressure, or take diuretics, because volume loading carries real risk in those situations. Severe or ongoing dehydration, persistent vomiting, or confusion are emergency-department matters, not drip-bar matters.
