About this drip

The classic wellness blend · also known as Refresh IV.

The Myers Cocktail is the original wellness IV — developed by Dr. John Myers in the 1970s and still one of the most widely used multi-nutrient infusions in the clinic. (NuHealth patients may know this drip as the Refresh IV — same drip, more accurate name.) NuHealth’s version pairs Magnesium, Calcium, Vitamin C, and a full B-Complex (with B6 and B12) in IV fluids. Patients book it after long-haul travel, a hot weekend of physical activity, a stretch where the basics of hydration and nutrition just slipped, or as a routine wellness session before a busy stretch. It’s also a common first drip for patients who aren’t sure which one to start with — Dr. Lula or Kris can tailor it after the intake. Sessions take about 30–45 minutes at our Royal Oak clinic.

What's Inside

Medical-grade ingredients, precisely dosed and delivered directly to your bloodstream.

01

Magnesium

An essential mineral involved in muscle, nerve, and metabolic function.

Mechanism
Magnesium is a cofactor for hundreds of enzymes and supports normal smooth-muscle, cardiac, and neurological function; the Myers protocol uses IV magnesium for that broad baseline.

02

Calcium

A core mineral the body uses across muscle, nerve, and cardiovascular function.

Mechanism
Calcium is essential for normal nerve conduction and muscle contraction; in the Myers blend it balances the magnesium and supports the formula the original protocol described.

03

Vitamin C

Water-soluble antioxidant involved in collagen synthesis and immune cell function.

Mechanism
Vitamin C is a cofactor for enzymes that maintain connective tissue and contributes to normal immune cell activity at higher plasma concentrations than oral intake typically achieves.

Source: NIH ODS — Vitamin C (Health Professional)

04

B-Complex (with B6 + B12)

Full B-Complex involved in cellular energy metabolism.

Mechanism
B vitamins are cofactors in the metabolic pathways that turn nutrients into ATP; stores dip after stress, illness, or under-eating.

05

Saline

IV fluids that carry the blend into circulation and address dehydration.

Mechanism
IV saline restores plasma volume faster than oral intake, which is rate-limited by GI absorption — particularly useful after sweat-heavy activity or in established dehydration.

Questions, answered

About the Myers Cocktail IV.

The Myers Cocktail is a multi-nutrient IV blend originally developed by Dr. John Myers — Magnesium, Calcium, Vitamin C, and a full B-Complex in IV fluids. It’s one of the most widely used wellness IVs — a go-to for general recovery, fatigue, and post-illness support.

Oral rehydration works, and for mild dehydration it’s the right tool. The Myers Cocktail goes straight into a vein, which helps when you’re already noticeably dehydrated, recovering from significant activity, or short on time before another commitment, and it adds the vitamin and mineral side of the picture.

Most patients don’t. If you’re needing IV nutrient support weekly, your NuHealth clinician will want to look at what’s driving the pattern — that’s often a sleep, diet, or training-load conversation, sometimes a thyroid / kidney / diabetes workup.

Most components in the Myers blend are generally considered safe in pregnancy, but every drip during pregnancy needs clinician sign-off ahead of time. Tell your provider you are pregnant or trying to conceive so they can adjust composition or recommend skipping it.

Safety + supervision

The Myers Cocktail is administered by a licensed clinician at our Royal Oak clinic. Tell your provider before the drip if you are pregnant, on calcium supplements, have known heart or kidney disease, or are on diuretics.
